Duo to the Rescue By FTRPLTXDuo to the Rescue By FTRPLTX "What did I get myself into?" Hilde said to herself, "I hope Duo's okay." She sat in a dark interrogation room, handcuffed to a chair. A young OZ female officer walks into the room. Hilde glances up at her nametag; it reads "Dana Pheltz". "So," Dana began, "what was the idea here? Did you realize you were assisting a Gundam Pilot?" Hilde did not reply. This angered Dana; she grabbed Hilde by the collar and started screaming in her face. "I asked you a question! Well, did you know?!" "I have nothing to say." Hilde replied quietly. Dana punched her in the face, drawing blood at the corner of her lip. Dana took a deep breath, then let out a short laugh. "I guess it doesn't matter. You'll probably receive the same fate as your boyfriend." Hilde's face turned pale, "What? No, not Duo!" Dana grabbed her face and with an evil grin, she said, "Yes, that's right, little girl You didn't hear? He's going to be executed along with the other captured Gundam pilot." A tear began to streak down Hilde's face. As Dana left the room, she instructed the guard to take her back to her cell. "Don't worry, little girl," She said, laughing at Hilde, "You and your boyfriend will be reunited soon enough." "Man, this sucks!" Duo sighed. He looked around the dark prison cell. Wufei was meditating in the corner and Heero was lying on the bed, starring up at the ceiling. "We should be, like, going to school, having fun, causing trouble." The two looked at Duo as he began to preach. "We're teenagers, we should be picking up chicks, instead of rotting in this cell." Heero remained silent, and Wufei replied, "Would you stop whining! You are so weak." "Sorry, man." Duo hanged his head in sorrow, "I'm just worried. I hope that girl was able to get away." "What girl?", Wufei asked, "You got in here with the aid of someone?" Duo just shook his head, "Yeah, she is something special. She helped me sneak aboard this factory. Hopefully, I'll live long enough to pilot my new Gundam." He sighed and said quietly to himself, "And hopefully she will too." It seemed like years to her. Hilde curled up on the battered bed that was in her cell, the same thoughts still running through her head. "I wonder if Duo's alive." She had been sitting in that cell for quite some time. There was no news on what happened to him. "Oh, well. No news is good news. Besides, Dana would have probably ran in here and rubbed it in." She felt a sense of hope in her soul, but that will soon be crushed. The door to her cell swung open. In walked Captain Pheltz, displaying an evil grin, once again. "Good day, little girl. I just wanted to pass the news." Hilde felt her heart stop, she didn't want to hear what she said next. "Apparently, there's a rumor that Tuberov has plans to kill your boyfriend today." "No." Hilde tried to hold back her tears. "Aww, you look so sad." Dana said as she removed her gloves, "Don't cry. You'll be joining him soon. However your death maybe a little slower then his. I despise traitors." Dana grabbed Hilde by her hair and lifted her off the bed. She then landed a blow to Hilde's midsection. Dana let go of her hair and Hilde fell on the floor, trying to catch her breath. "That's just the beginning." The smiling Oz officer said. She was about to kick her, when the alarms sounded off. "What now!" The irate Dana screamed, "Can't they see I'm having fun?!" An OZ soldier ran into the cell, "Captain Pheltz, ma'am, Colonel Une's forces from Barge are attacking us!" "What!" She became furious, "What's that arrogant fool trying to prove?!" Before Pheltz exited the cell, she told her subordinate that was guarding the door, "Okay Mick, you can have some fun with her, but don't kill her. I will finish her when I return." The large muscular guard walked into the cell. He approached the Hilde in the corner. She attempted to punch him in the family jewels and make a break for the door. No luck. "You're not leaving this place alive, Little girl." The air was running short in the cell. "No way, I can't go out like this!" Duo said defiantly. He noticed Wufei remained motionless on the ground. "C'mon, man. Don't cash your chips now!" His thoughts began to wander in, what seemed, the last seconds of his young life. He wondered what happened to Trowa and Heero, who were sent out to destroy a rumored new Gundam, and never heard from since. Soon, he began to lose conscienceness, "Hilde." As he whispered her name, the doors of the cell flew open and the air rushed in. "Awesome!" He exclaimed being brought back to life, "Hey, Wufei, I don't know what happened, but let's get the hell out of here!" The two ran out of the cellblock B wing. "So, where's our Gundam's?" Wufei asked. "Aww, man!" Duo replied, "I forgot." Wufei slapped his forehead, "Great! Well, let's split up and try to find them. Tuberov might have everything back to normal soon." Duo nodded in agreement as him and Wufei parted. He ran down a long corridor. Just then, he heard a group of Oz soldiers running. Duo quickly busted into a room in the middle of the corridor. "Damn, this place smells like a gym locker." He said looking around, only seeing lockers. He noticed above the door a sign saying "Ladies Locker Room". "Well, that would explain the smell." He then began going through the lockers to see if there were any weapons he could use. All he found was just some workout attires. "Damn, why couldn't I break into the armory!" As he flung the door to the last locker open, a baseball bat fell out. "Well, I guess this will do." He also noticed a black baseball cap hanging in the locker. "Might as well, take this too, for style." He cracked open the door. He heard no OZ soldiers buzzing around. He continued down the corridor and turned right at the hall junction. Unfortunately, this just led him to the second, smaller cellblock, Cellblock A. "Damn it! I should have turned left!" As he turned around to head back, he heard a girl screaming. "Is that. Hilde!" Duo ran to the last cell in the row. He saw a battered Hilde, with her shirt torn. Above her, was a huge OZ Security guard, "You done fighting back, girlie?" Mick said with a sick smile. He then felt an object hit him hard on the back. "What the?" he screamed as he turned around. Duo then smashed him in the face with the bat, the impact knocking his teeth out. "Duo!" Hilde smiled, relieved to see him, "You're still alive!" "Of coarse," Duo replied as he swung at Mick again, striking him down to the ground. "You can't kill the God of Death!" He lifted the bat over his head and looked down at him, "You should learn to treat a lady with respect!" Duo then bashed the baseball bat onto his cranium, cracking the bat as well as Mick's skull. "Are you okay?" Duo asked as he took her hand and lifted her off the ground. She replied by hugging Duo, tears streaming down her face. He said, "It ain't over yet. Let's get the hell out of here." They ran back down the hall and headed left this time. "I've got to find my Gundam! Hopefully Une will keep Tuberov busy for awhile!" The two made it to the end of the hall, their path blocked by a locked door. On the door were the words "MS Bay 09". "That's it!" Duo shouted for joy, "That's were mine and Wufei's Gundam are." He tried to open the door, but it was no good. "Duo, I know were a security room is around here. Wait right here and I'll get it open." Duo nodded his head, "Right! Be careful, don't get yourself killed! As soon as you open it, run back here. We'll cram into my Gundam and get off this rock!" Hilde ran down to the hall/corridor junction. She busted into the security room and began hacking into the security mainframe. "Now, let's see which one I the MS Bay 09's door lock?" She said to herself as the raid sirens continued to sound off. "There! Got it!" She said to Duo over the intercom. After she opened the door, she turned around and saw Captain Pheltz, standing behind her. "You little brat!" she said as she slapped Hilde. Duo heard Hilde scream over the intercom as he boarded his Gundam. "No! I got to go back to her!" Wufei held him back. "Listen, there's nothing you can do, we got to get out of here." Duo struck his fist against the cockpit console. "Why? This sucks." The Altron and Deathscythe Hell Gundams exited the hanger. They began taking out the lunar base's mobile doll defense units. "You bastards!" Duo shouted in anger, as he sliced a Virgo in half, "Why did you have to take her away!" "That's enough," Wufei ordered, "Let's get out of here." Duo looked one last time at the lunar base. "Please, stay alive, Hilde." "What should we do with her?" An OZ soldier asked. Dana began to pace around the interrogation room, "Well, her boyfriend managed to get away with that Gundam. He'll certainly come back for her. If we promise him that we will spare her life, he'll surrender the Gundam. Then after we waste him, we'll dump her carcass out in space with him." She then let out a quiet laugh, "together forever." "You rest here, for now." Duo said to his Gundam. He closed the hanger doors, which were located in the middle of a scrap yard, and walked back to the small runned down house in the yard. He grabbed a soda from the fridge, and sat at the table. "I should of went back for her." He starred at the wall, trying to find an answer. He wondered about Heero and Trowa, "Are they still alive? What about Quatre? He hasn't heard from him since we went out into space. What if Wufei and I are the only ones left? Who's going to continue the fight?" He began shaking his head, trying to forget everything. His mind went back to Hilde, "Was I right? What good is everything if the person I care for is dead. Is she dead? She might still be alive!" He just became angry about the regret. "That's it," He said as he threw the can at the wall, "I'm going back for her!" The raid sirens went off as the lunar base tower detected an enemy Gundam heading towards the west block. A wave of Taurus mobile dolls attempted to intercept it, but were quickly dispatched by its duel beam scythe. One of the Taurus units fell near cellblock A, exploding on contact. "Better watch it," Duo said to himself, "Hilde might be in one of those." Hilde starred up at the ceiling of the cell, the same cell she was imprisoned not too long ago. "At least they could have given me a different room," she sighed. She began to hear the rumbling of a nearby explosion. The rumbling shook the entire cell, sending a piece of the ceiling down to the ground, nearly hitting her. "Whoa, that was close. Hey, wait a sec." She noticed the ventilation shaft is now exposed. "Cool, now I can bust out of here!" "Captain Pheltz, Lt. Alan Tow and Lt. Boris Lydowski reporting as ordered!" Lt. Tow said as both he and Lt. Lydowski saluted her. She briefed the two man that the Gundam attacking is the upgraded Gundam Unit 2 that escaped. She also instructed them that if Dou wants Hilde still alive, he must surrender the Gundam. "Remember, Don't kill him. I want to seize that Gundam." The two replied, "Yes ma'am!" Tow added, "Consider it done." Before the two left, she warned them not to underestimate him, for he is, a Gundam pilot. The two men suited up and hopped in their Taurus units. They went to encounter Duo, taking several Virgo mobile dolls with them. "This is a message for Duo Maxwell," Tow said over the intercom, "Surrender your Gundam immediately. If you refuse, you can kiss the girl goodbye." Duo was stopped cold in his tracks. "Great," Duo's mind began to race, "What do I now? What if they're bluffing and Hilde's already dead? Besides, they might just end up killing me and her anyway." He had no choice. "You win, I surrender." "Excellent work, gentlemen," Dana congratulated the two, "You managed to bring both back in one piece." "Where's Hilde?!" Duo demanded. Dana walked over to him, placing her hand on the side of his face. "Don't worry, you'll see her soon enough." The two soldiers then began to beat Duo with batons, "Looks like the infamous God of Death isn't so tough." Lydowski grunted. She then instructed them to throw Duo in cellblock B. "Here we are," Tow said with a chuckle, "Enjoy your stay." Lydowski threw him into the cell, "Enjoy your stay. By the way, the captain will reunite you with your girl, after she blows her brains out!" The two laughed, and Tow added as he slammed the door, "This is what happens when you mess with OZ." "Damn it, not again, why me?" Duo whined as he plopped down on the trashed out bed. "Back in the same prison cell, how could I be so dumb?" He was about to close his eyes, when he heard a knocking on the ceiling. "What the hell?" Suddenly the screen for the ventilation shaft came crashing down, followed by Hilde, landing in front of him. "Hilde!" He shouted as she ran up to him and held him close. "I thought you wouldn't come back for me." Duo looked her in the eyes, "Don't ever think that! I will always be there whenever you're in danger." She gave him a kiss on the cheek, "Shall we try this again?" The two hopped into the shaft. "If I'm not mistaken," Hilde said, "The Hanger Bay 09 should be that way." They exited out a couple of yards away from Duo's stationary D-Hell. Two OZ soldiers were guarding it. "This is going to be tricky" A frustrated Duo said, as the two cowered behind a container. "Duo, I got an idea," She whispered in his ear, "I'll draw the guards attention, when they chase after me, then you book it to your Gundam." "What about you?" he asked "Don't worry about me. I'll run away to another hanger bay and try to find a space Leo or something." "No way!" Duo responded sharply, "You're coming with me! Sure the cockpit will be a little cramped, but at least I know you'll be safe!" He was trying to think of some type of diversion. Dou then noticed a Supernova signal flare kit hanging on the wall.. "Stop!" the guard ordered as Duo ran and retrieved a flare. He tossed up a flare, and gave off a super bright light for a few seconds. It distracted the guards long enough for him and Hilde to make a run for the D-Hell. As Duo powered up the D-Hell's system, one of the guards pulled the alarm. "What now?!" Pheltz barked as the three raced to MS Bay 09. They arrived to see that the D-Hell is long gone. "Oh, just great!" she exclaimed as she punched one of the guards in the face. "How could you idiots let them escape?!" She then turned and faced Tow and Lydowski, "Get in your mobile suits and while you're at it, grab a couple of Virgos and meet up with me. We're going after that Gundam!" "Well, this isn't a bad fit," Hilde smiled at Duo, sitting on his lap in the cramped cockpit. "You're right, not too shabby at all." They both started laughing. However their laughter ceased when Duo noticed multiple incoming mobile suits on his radar. "Damn it! They're onto us!" Duo said as Hilde held onto him tighter, "This is gonna be a wild ride." "Send the Virgo units 1 and 2!" Dana ordered. "Tow and Lydowski, go with them, make sure you finish them!" "No turning back now!" Duo said as he sliced through the first unit of Virgos. He accelerated towards Tow and Lydowski, "You two can fight! Why do you have to have dolls win your victory?" Lydowski was offended by Duo's remarks and began firing his laser cannon wildly. Two of his shots managed to hit the D-Hell's active cloak. Duo just shook his head. "No skill." A look of horror appeared on Lydowski's face right before Duo sliced through his Taurus' torso. Tow attempted to stop him, but to no avail. Duo dispatched him with his buster shield, drilling through the unfortunate pilot's cockpit. Pheltz began to panic. She and her the 3 Virgo mobile doll units went out to far from the lunar base, now out of range of communication to call for reinforcements. "Surrender, Pheltz, It's over!" Hilde screamed at her over the intercom. Dana did not respond. She transformed into fighter mode and began to head back to base, praying to get into range. "You're not going anywhere!" Duo shouted as he let off some rounds from his head-mounted Vulcan cannons. The rounds struck her from behind, dramatically reducing her speed. As she tried one last time to hail lunar base, she saw a dark image hovering over her. The next site was a pair of florescent beam blades and finally oblivion. Duo and Hilde returned back to the runned down junkyard. "How long do you think you'll still be fighting?" Hilde asked as they starred out into the artificial sky. "I wish I knew. I have to find out if the other four are still alive." He then put his arm around her, "But now that I know you're safe. That's one less thing for me to worry about." The End
